After most dental procedures under local anaesthetic you can drive as normal. The anaesthetic does not significantly affect your reaction time. You may, however, experience some numbness or mild discomfort afterwards. If you receive sedation or general anaesthesia, you must not drive yourself. In that case you need to arrange transport home. Taking painkillers or sedatives can also have an effect. Your practitioner will discuss this with you in advance. Always listen to your body and do not take any risks. If in doubt, it is better to bring someone with you. Your safety and recovery come first.
