Implants - Other Aspects

How is guided surgery planned?

Planning starts with a CBCT scan and digital analysis to design a surgical guide.

Planning for guided surgery begins with a detailed CBCT scan of the jaw to map the bone structure. A virtual model of the jaw is created from this 3D imaging. Using specialist software, the implantologist determines the optimal position, angle and depth of the implant. A surgical guide is then produced from this digital plan, usually by 3D printing. This guide is placed in the mouth during the procedure to guarantee the precise drilling direction and depth. The preparation also takes account of surrounding anatomical structures such as nerves and sinuses. Virtual planning makes it possible to place several implants efficiently in a single session. Thanks to the detailed planning, complications can be anticipated and avoided. The whole process is carried out in close collaboration between the implantologist, dentist and dental technician. This thorough preparation results in predictable, successful implant placement.
