Implants - Other Aspects

Can I have several implants placed at the same time?

Yes, it is often possible to place several implants in a single session.

Depending on your oral health and bone structure, several implants can be placed at the same time. This is usually done under local anaesthetic and sometimes with light sedation. Extensive preparation and planning are required. A 3D scan is used to determine where the implants are best placed. The duration of the treatment depends on the number of implants and the complexity. After the procedure, a healing period follows during which the bone bonds to the implant. Pain and swelling afterwards are normal but easily managed. Your clinician will discuss beforehand whether this is suitable in your situation. For a full-mouth replacement, 4 to 6 implants per jaw are usually placed. This method saves time and often gives faster results.
