Implants - Treatments

Is guided surgery suitable for all implant patients?

Guided surgery is particularly suitable for complex cases and limited bone structure, but it is not always necessary.

Although guided surgery offers many advantages, it is not necessary or suitable in every case. For relatively straightforward implant placements with sufficient bone volume, the conventional method may be enough. Guided surgery is especially useful in complex situations, such as limited bone height, narrow jaws or proximity to nerves. Patients with extensive bone loss or anatomical abnormalities benefit most from this technique. It is also valuable in full-arch reconstructions, where several implants have to be placed with great accuracy. In patients with a complicated medical history, the technique can improve safety. The implantologist assesses on the basis of CBCT images whether guided surgery is the preferred option. For routine implant placements without anatomical challenges, the conventional technique may be more efficient. A personal consultation helps to determine whether guided surgery is the best choice for your individual situation. By discussing the options, the patient can make a well-informed decision.
